Rubona Discovery Tour
(One Day Tour)
Rubona is a small but hard-working village located on Kasese Road near Fort Portal. You start your tour by visiting a bee plantation, which is run by a local youth group. You can get an insight of how the bees are helping to produce honey, candles, medicine and ear cleaners.
After that you will visit a craft-shop where the owner shows you how to create the crafts which are all produced in and around those village.
Next stop is a basket community. Local women groups are working together to produce the natural coloured baskets.
The best comes to the end: You will visit a farmer family which makes wine out of bananas. Of course you will have the possibility to taste it.
Now you have the choice of where to eat your lunch. You can eat your lunch with the wine producing farmers or at Rujuna Hilltop Guest House.
